Vino.com Launches – Kudos To Rick Latona

Earlier today I got a great text message from my wife, it said " You just had wine delivered, someone named Rick Latona." First off I thought awesome!!! Then I realized, hey wait, my wife is opening my mail.

I wanted to say thanks to Rick for the bottles of wine that he sent showing off his great new site Vino.com. The site really is nice and they have done a great job making it easy to use and navigate. Once again, thanks for the great gift!

I am a big fan of Ricks and have done business with him on both the name acquisition side as well as AEIOU.com. His team has always been great and I am really happy to see that he is launching consumer product sites using his category killer domains. Good work.

Ironically enough we are working to launch a wine portal as well in the fairly near future (late January), so this was a nice little surprise (do not worry Rick, completely different niche/area, wink wink).

  1. Drinking my Red tonight…thanks Rick :)

I agree…it’s great to see a “domain trader” also developing names. Inspiring stuff…

Nice site and good luck Rick but I think you have a bug…popup comes up on every page and I mean every page.

I started reviewing the site but had a popup for “Wine Of Month Club” on every page I visited….better get rid of that quickly because once is okay and twice is pushing it…but every page is terrible.

Just wanted to give you a “heads up”.

Good luck with site, looks very promising.

I’m not a big fan of “fine print” websites. “hey, let us send you 2 bottles of wine for just shipping charges” and then in small, gray font at the bottom of the page it says:

“At the end of your 14 day risk free trial you will be charged the discounted price of $69.95 plus shipping and handling. If Vino.com is not for you, simply call Vino.com customer support toll free at 1-866-356-9990 within your 14 day free trial period to cancel. Then simply return the empty box we’ve sent you (keep the wine!) and you will NEVER be billed! Vino.com requires no commitments, offers no hassles and cares about our customers first. Customer is responsible for shipping and handling charges.”

And they require you to return the empty box in order to cancel your membership? Come on, this is pushing it.
