Word Of Mouth

As I mentioned in a post last week the Missouri.me branding efforts are starting to work, there is still plenty to do but the initial work is starting to pay off. One thing that always needs to be associated with your company brand and products is success. Although we had already had plenty of customers call us or talk to us about the various business they have gained the best compliment is when you do not even know you are being talked about.

Friday morning, before we shutdown our Internet connection to finish up the move, I received several business directory submissions and a few emails from people. It is normal for us to get business directory submissions daily but to have those submissions directly followed by request for pricing and details on all the things we do was something that does not always happen several times before 9am each morning. I was not sure what had happened but was curious.

Around an hour later a lady came to our new office looking to sell us a product, not knowing who we were, she saw my Missouri.me shirt and said "Hey, are you the Missouri.me guys?". I stated yes, and she indicated she had just sent me an email. After talking to her a bit I found out one of the local chambers of commerce had been giving a marketing training class and one of our customers was attending. He is a rather well known local businessman so his word goes along way in the community. He started talking our services and results up to everyone in the group. I will say it again, "Word Of Mouth Is The Best Compliment!!!".

One great thing that we have been pretty lucky with is the fact we have some very solid reference customers, but when your reference is the one pointing the customers to you, well that takes step out of the process. They know you do good work before they even get to you.

Later that evening my wife and I went to dinner at the customers place of business and thanked him. I found out he also had been talking us up elsewhere as well. Now for the really great part, he asked if I knew about a certain website. I stated yes with a smile. He said he had a customer come in from 60 miles away that day that had found him on that website. I let him know it was one of ours, they had found him on one of our test sites that we had been working on as part of our services. As you can imagine we got a big thank you for giving him extra value he did not even know he was getting. Provide something of value, at a good price, and make sure it works and your customers will do the selling for you.

And on a side note, this is post #100!!!!!!!
