Wow, was just watching the Hawaii Tsunami coverage on CNN and Fox News, one thing that caught my eye was the CNN Internet/social media guy talking about a great site that came up called HiTsunami.info.

Normally you see some types of domainers try to take advantage of a natural disaster such as this but in this case kudos to John Garcia who quickly put up a site focused on providing valuable info to those interesting in the event.

Someone did already own the .COM, but I think this is a great use of a .info domain.

The site features Ustream video, preparedness kit info, twitter feeds, etc. Even though the tsunami in Hawaii has not been a huge problem it was great to see someone use a perfect domain name, get it ramped up quick into a real website and have it mentioned on CNN so quick. Has to be a record for time from purchase to time to mention on a major media channel.
